What we don't collect

• Your keystrokes and typed text — what you type never leaves your device.
• Analytics, advertising IDs, or third-party trackers.
• Contacts, photos, location, or files outside the keyboard's own working storage.
• Device identifiers (IMEI, MAC address, Android ID).

What we collect (only what's listed below)

• Voice audio — only while you hold the microphone button. Sent over an encrypted connection to our speech-transcription service, transcribed, and immediately discarded. Not stored.
• Email address — only if you choose to sign in. Used solely to send your sign-in link.
• Anonymous user identifier — auto-generated on first launch; used to enforce your daily voice quota.
• Daily voice transcription count — for quota enforcement. Anonymous and signed-in tiers have different daily limits; current values are shown in the app.

Who we share data with

We send data to a small number of third-party service providers, used only for the purposes above:

• An authentication service provider — to manage sign-in and your account.
• A speech-transcription service — to convert your voice recordings to text.
• A content-delivery / edge service — for secure network routing.
• Google Play — for app distribution and optional device-integrity verification.

These providers process data on our behalf under contractual terms. They do not use your data for their own marketing, analytics, or any other purposes.

International transfers

If your data crosses the EEA or UK boundary, we rely on the appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.

How long we keep it

• Voice audio — not retained; discarded after transcription.
• Email and user ID — until you ask us to delete them.
• Daily quota counter — resets daily.
• Microphone permission flag — stored only on your device.

Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to processing of your data. Email kurdpad@kurdishai.org — we reply within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority.

Security

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard secure connections. Your authentication credentials are encrypted and stored securely on your device, and are excluded from automatic cloud-backup and device-transfer.

Children

KurdPad is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law applies).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Updated" date above reflects the latest revision; material changes will be announced in the app or by email.
